• What comes to mind when you think of the word Sheriff? What makes the Office of Sheriff unique in law enforcement? Why is it called the Sheriff’s Office – not Sheriff’s Department. When you understand this you’ll know why it’s important we continue to elect our Sheriffs. It preserves the direct accountability of the office to the citizens via the election process.

The Sheriff’s Office is an institution with a fascinating history, originating in England over a thousand years ago as an integral part of the Shire system of protection and authority. Check the following link for a very engaging short article about it. It’s a gem.

We are hosting a Roundtable Discussion with our three Republican Sheriff’s Candidates in Adams County: Mike McIntosh, Fred Ramirez and Mark Nicastle.
